In the Kim Saga mini-epic, I had left you in January, 1978. I had left Des and agreed to go back with Kim. The first couple of months of going back were a little rough as we were both going through the process of breakups with our current flames. Kim had a new boyfriend at the time, just as I had Desiree.
What if we started this week’s story with a quick theme song?
Relationships are difficult, aren’t they. There’s a reason why half of all American marriages end in divorce – they require a lot of communication, dedication, compromise, understanding and a whole lot more. Continue reading
In the last story (link) about the early relationship between me and my wife, (girlfriend at the time), I had suffered a setback and celebrated a success. I had to drop out of going to college full time and then accepted my first ‘real job’ which was to be an Assistant Manager at Taco Bell. Continue reading
When last we were together, (you and I), Kim and I were standing atop the Kings Island Eiffel Tower, perhaps considering our futures. We got through Senior Prom and graduation without a hitch to speak of, but what the hell was next? When we graduated, I was working full time hours with Taco Bell and Kim I think had left Wendy’s, did a couple of weeks waitress’ing at Frisch’s and then landed a part time job at The Gap. Over the summer we both worked. We worked, we played and we wondered what the future had in store for us. Continue reading
It’s time for another Kim Saga story, (or as she’s known here, her alias name Sheila). When we left off in the last story, it was the Fall of 1975. There was much more action in the summer, fall and winter of that year. This chapter is mostly the Fall and Winter, late 75. What is it about hormones that drives teenagers nuts, (or adults for that matter). Oh, by the way, if Sheila’s mom has stumbled onto this story, leave. Go watch a video on Facebook, one featuring cute kittens or something like that. This story shouldn’t be read by parents. Gone now? Ok, where was I? Continue reading
If you are a regular story reader here, you know that posted within my stories, my true accounts, is a longer story line about my girl friend, (now my wife), and me – our early years together from the time I first laid eyes on Sheila, up until our marriage. You can find all of these stories by doing a search on the category Kim Saga within my story blog site. In the last story, Summer of Discontent, (link), I had written about the summer immediately after we were told that we were not allowed to see each other and I ended that story with high school about to begin in 1975.
It was Fall, 1975 and school had begun. We both looked forward to school that year because it meant that we were once again a couple. We saw each other everyday. We coordinated our schedules, even attending a couple of classes together just so we could maximize our time together. As steadies, we had exchanged class rings but Sheila would remove hers before going home at night since technically she was banned by her parents from seeing me. Banning us from seeing each other only strengthened our resolve, making us more determined. We were seniors now and soon we would turn 18 next year. Continue reading
It was the best of times. It was the worst of times. This famous literary opening well describes the summer following my getting caught in my girlfriend’s bedroom by her mother. Let me back up a tad in case you are a visitor, new to my story blog site. One of the multi-chapter stories embedded within my blog is the telling of my wife’s and mine early days together, beginning with our meeting in junior high through to getting married. These can be found by clicking on the “Kim Saga” Category. In the last story, (link here), I had gotten caught in “Sheila’s” bedroom by her mother. We pick up now from that point. Continue reading
She Came in Through the Bathroom Window (OK, so really it was me and it was a bedroom window)……
Well, I had done it. At least that’s what I had told my girlfriend. I had indeed found the mystical blue condom. It was just a ploy, a game. We both knew that. Our hormones were running rampant, (mine were setting land speed records). The question now was when and where. Continue reading
In the last episode of the continuing Kim Saga sub-story, we learned that teenagers can be sneaky (read me). (We didn’t know that before, did we.) In that story, Kim sent me on an expedition, an exploration, a clandestine Indiana Jones quest. The goal? To find the secret location for the blue prophylactic condom. Continue reading
